SOLAR POWERED RAIN BARREL PUMPING KITS SolaRain™ solar powered rain barrel pumping system is designed to conserve environmental resources while allowing you to easily water your garden and landscaping with pure rain water.  Low voltage (12-volt) landscaping lights can also be powered from the same system.   The system is composed of three major parts.    A 50-watt solar panel that measures approximately 25-inches square which comes with simple mounting brackets.   Two recycled 55-gallon plastic rain barrels connected in series and 25 feet of ¾-inch plastic tubing used to connect the rain barrels, pump and your garden hose together. A control panel that includes an 12 amp battery charge controller with built-in lighting timer, 3-gpm 45 psi water pump, a combination circuit breaker and on-off switch box which operates the water pump and low voltage lights or other low voltage applications, a 200-watt modified sine-wave DC to AC inverter, and associated wiring and connectors.  The control panel measures 18-inches wide by 32-inches tall and is ¾-inch thick.  A 12-volt deep cycle marine (or true deep cycle) lead acid wet battery will be needed to complete the kit.  The battery and weather resistant electrical wire (for connecting to the solar panel) are not included in the kit.  They can be purchased at local retailers. By using the battery charge controller timer, you can automatically turn your landscape lights on at dusk and turn them off after a specified time. The timer can be set to run for 1 hour or more or all night. Installation instructions and basic mounting hardware are included with each system.  Prices start at $795.
